DataDotDNA reduces crime to zero at Sydney car dealer
Col Crawford’s is a large multi-franchise Car Dealership in Sydney. Both its holding yard and car yard display were frequently targets of crime. “Alloy wheels, sports seats, steering wheels, music systems and even car badges regularly went missing,” Managing Director Stephen Crawford said.

The holding yard was secured with high cyclone fencing with a metre of barbed wire at the top, improved flood lighting of the area

and installed security cameras to try and curb the high frequency of thefts. “In periods of continual theft we have employed security guards to spend the entire night patrolling the area,” Mr Crawford said.

Then in August 2003, the dealership had a “bad run of theft” from the stock holding yard, and took the decision to all new cars when they came into stock. “Since that August, we have not had one break-in, theft or act of vandalism."

"I am quite convinced that the type of people that conduct these criminal activities simply see our stock as greater risk than the Dealership or parking lot up the road and have left us alone. I can strongly recommend as a deterrent to theft and assisting in securing your stock holding. I am more than happy to discuss my situation with anyone and welcome a phone call.”
