Why Create a Unique Identity For Something?
Applying a unique identity to an individual item is beneficial in
numerous ways. It allows tracking and identification of the origin of
the item, as well as details of its manufacture, ownership, authenticity
and destination. It assists greatly in providing quality assurance of
component parts and manufacturing processes. It reduces criminal
activity by deterring counterfeiting and theft and assists in the
recovery and return of assets that have been stolen. To find out more

Intellectual Property
DDT closely guards its ownership of intellectual property. The company
has applied for and been granted a standard patent and an innovation
patent in Australia over its spray techniques. These patents allow the
Company to claim rights to the technology to the exclusion of
competitors up to 2021 (the standard patent) and 2009 (the innovation
patent). The innovation patent was challenged in Australia during 2003.
In the resulting litigation, the Australian Federal Court upheld the
patent. The Australian patents are derived from an initial patent
application filed in the United States of America in November 2000. An
international patent application, and applications in a range of
countries, also derive from that initial application. In addition, DDT
has proprietary ownership in various machines used in its manufacturing
process due to the custom design and internal assembly of these
machines. |
